Hey all,
I hope this week treated you well. I had an insane week, and it seems like the days keep going by faster and faster.
I’m continually amazed at how much life can change in a short period of time. In this young year, I have already taken some big steps forward, career-wise:
I started working for two real-life startups!
The Nate from 6 months ago would be thrilled with how things have worked out!
But because I’ve been filling my time with other cool activities, this newsletter has had to take a seat on the back burner. I’m working on something cool, hopefully for next week, but for this week, you will have to settle for this short email, which includes some housekeeping and a short write-up on one of my favorite startups: Stable.
🧹 Housekeeping 🧹
I’m looking for a co-author. If you want to become a part of Startup Salad 🥗, hit me with an email. I’d love to talk to you.
Outside of the newsletter, I’m also starting a channel on Capiche FM. I’ll be talking to friends about their expertise in relation to startups. I have some cool guests lined up, and I am excited to start sharing these. We’ll turn these into podcasts as well, so don’t worry if you can’t tune-in live!
📬 Stable 📬
A while back, I came across this tweet:
I was looking for part-time job and while customer experience + ops seemed like an interesting way to get my foot in the door, it was really the “If you’re excited about shaping the future of how companies are built” part that really caught my attention. My interest was thoroughly piqued and I began researching Stable, trying to figure out exactly how they were going to shape the future.
What does Stable do?
Stable is a virtual address & mailroom for startups.
As the shift toward remote work grows more and more prominent, the antiquity of snail mail becomes more and more obvious. The modern mail system also becomes increasingly more of a hassle to deal with.
While the business world has made a nearly complete migration online, the government hasn't, and whether we like it or not, tons of “important” communication occurs via the postal system. But in remote-first world, how are you supposed to stay on top of your mail?
Stable does it for you, by providing startups with a virtual address and mailroom.
For a monthly subscription, Stable provides you (assuming “you” are a startup) with a permanent address in San Francisco and assistance with change of address forms. They’ll also accept, store, and shred your mail for you, and even deposit checks if you need them too! But that’s not the coolest thing they’ll do–Stable also scans your mail and sends it to you, digitally of course!
They take the physical and make it digital. It’s brilliant.
Stable also does other cool things, like helping walk you through the transition process and offering custom office locations. They’re a really cool company now, but I think their best days are ahead of them!
Stable really is shaping the future of how companies are built, and I have no doubt that over the next few years they’ll continue to help more and more startups grow and thrive in our new remote world. The world is changing and how we build companies needs to change as well. Stable is helping usher in that future.
And according to Stable’s website, they’re hiring. So if you’re interested in building the future of company building, it’s worth sending founders Sarah Ahmad & Collin Pham an email. FWIW, I reached out and chatted with Sarah. It wasn’t a fit at the time, due to my school schedule, but they are definitely a company I’m going to keep an eye on!
Anyway, thanks for reading another issue of Startup Salad 🥗. If you enjoyed it, please share it with a friend. Talk again soon!
